Smitten 2

Smitten 2 is een cooperatief spel met slecht 18 kaarten en is dus heel handig mee te nemen op reis. De kaarten zijn prima en artwork is met The Mico, dus dat is helemaal top. Smitten 2 is niet meer dan een mooie afbeelding in 9 blokken geknipt en dat 2 keer. 2 maal dezelfde illustratie. De 18 kaarten zitten in een heel plat doosje en past zo in je binnenzak.

Hoe wordt het spel gespeeld

Je kan Smitten 2 solo of met 2 personen spelen, maar het is leuker om het met 2 personen te spelen. In de makkelijke variant krijgt elke speler 4 kaarten. 1 kaart komt los op tafel en de overige kaarten zijn een trekstapel. Het doel is om 2 keer dezelfde puzzel te maken door de afbeelding compleet op tafel te krijgen. De ene kaart die apart op tafel ligt, is de laatste kaart die aangelegd wordt.
Je mag zelf kiezen wie er aan de beurt is, de persoon die denkt dat hij/zij het beste kan starten, zegt dat en start met het neerleggen van een kaart. Elke kaart heeft een vaste positie in de puzzel. Op de kaarten staan opdrachten voor de andere persoon. De andere persoon moet die opdracht kunnen uitvoeren. De opdrachten zijn meestal iets van: leg een kaart neer in beide afbeeldingen, leg een kaart in rechterkolom neer, etc. Kaarten moeten aansluitend neergelegd worden en als iemand de opdracht niet kan uitvoeren, dan hebben de spelers gezamenlijk verloren. Kan je de opdracht wel doen? Doe de opdracht en overleg weer wie er begint. Je mag alleen overleggen wie er gaat beginnen en je mag niets vertellen over de kaarten in je hand.
Dit gaat zo door totdat de 2 identieke afbeeldingen voltooid zijn.

Wat vind ik van het spel

Smitten 2 is een zeer klein en ook kort kaartspel. Het duurt maar 10 minuten en als je niet oppast nog veel korter. Vooral de start is wat lastig, omdat je aangrenzend een kaart moet neerleggen, is dat niet altijd mogelijk. Als je medespeler een kaart op positie 9 neerlegt en jullie hebben beide geen aangrenzende kaarten, ben je meteen af en heeft iedereen verloren. De opdrachten die de andere speler moet uitvoeren zijn makkelijk of juist lastig. Daar ga je in het begin vaker de mist mee in. Maar als je de moeilijke opdrachten eenmaal doorhebt, haal je het spel elke keer achter elkaar. Het trucje is dan bekend. Dan kan je het beter een paar maanden in de kast leggen om daarna weer eens een keer te proberen. Je kan de moeilijkheidsgraad nog wat opvoeren, maar gameplay blijft hetzelfde. Smitten 2 is echt voor een korte tijd geschikt en dus even als tussendoortje.

How is the game played?

You can play Smitten 2 solo or with 2 people, but it is more fun to play with 2 people. The goal is to complete the same puzzle twice by getting the image to the table. The one card lying separately on the table is the last card to be placed.

You get to choose whose turn it is; the person who thinks they can start best says so and begins by placing a card. Each card has a fixed position in the puzzle. The cards contain instructions for the other person. The other person must be able to carry out that instruction. The instructions are usually something like: place a card in both images, place a card in the right column, etc. Cards must be placed adjacent to each other, and if someone cannot carry out the instruction, the players have lost collectively. Can you do the instruction? Perform the instruction and discuss again who starts. You may only discuss who is going to start and you may not say anything about the cards in your hand.

This continues until the 2 identical images are completed.

What do I think of the game

Smitten 2 is a very small and also short card game. It only lasts 10 minutes, and if you are not careful, much shorter. The start is especially a bit tricky, because you have to place an adjacent card, which is not always possible. If your team mate places a card at position 9 and neither of you has adjacent cards, you are out immediately and everyone has lost. The instructions that the other player must carry out are either easy or difficult. You’ll make mistakes with that more often in the beginning. But once you figure out the difficult missions, you’ll complete the game every time. The trick is known by then. In that case, you’re better off putting it aside for a few months and trying it again later. You can put up the difficulty a bit, but the gameplay remains the same. Smitten 2 is really only suitable for a short time, so it’s just for a quick diversion.
